Is The State of Arkansas Viewed As A Winner?

According to Mosler, one of the main speakers at the annual Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce banquet Saturday, businesses will come to Arkansas if the state is viewed as a winner.

Ideas were shared about how to make Arkansas more viable in the business world. Oh yeah, the event was held at the Greenbrier Junior High School cafeteria.

Way to get the image thing kicked off in the right direction.

A few years ago, after moving to Arkansas, I was going around the horn (flipping channels) and landed on The Tonight Show. Jay Leno was doing his opening monologue, and while I don't remember the joke, the punchline was, "They have computers in Arkansas?"

I don't know about the rest of the state, but here in Conway, the business community continues to grow. Recently, Hewlett Packard announced plans open a state-of-the art facility here.

Shortly thereafter, Southwestern Energy, a natural gas exploration and production company, announced it will locate a regional headquarters in Conway. That's all you can ask for in a depressed economy.

Next year, maybe they'll find a better location for the Greenbrier Chamber banquet. I hear the McDonald's dining area is available.
